Her family would also request that like Enid’s character please wear something with colour…. she hated black!
Enid loved flowers and her little courtyard garden. Her family are marking this with their own garden tributes. If you wish to bring flowers to carry or wear at the funeral, Enid would want you to continue to enjoy them at home later.
If you prefer to donate to charity instead, then St Giles Hospice Whittington and the RNLI were her favourites. Thank you.
There will be a collection on the day but you can also donate to either charity online in advance by using the following links:

Enid was always Niddles to us, a nickname which reflected the closeness we always felt to our dear friend and the love we had for her. Her joy in seeing all her friends and her enthusiasm for life, no matter what it threw at her, are our abiding memories. She was also the only person who was kind enough to eat my home-made mince pies on a Boxing Day walk in the Peak District, and pretend she enjoyed them. A true friend indeed!
Even though we lived miles apart in Wales in latter years, our long telephone natters putting the world to rights meant we managed to keep in touch throughout our long friendship which spanned more than 40 years.
We’ll miss you.
Jane and Barrie xx
Enid will be so missed, after knowing her for many years, and also doing her hair every week, I grew very close to her. She was full of life and always made us laugh, she would come in the salon dancing and laughing. It won’t be the same here now, all of us miss you and love you. But no doubt you are up to mischief in your next life.xxxx
Auntie Enid’s cards were the highlight of all our Birthday cards. Always on time, opened with great anticipation. They carefully included a great deal of thought, kindness, love, humour and the most important: rudeness which we all enjoyed .
We shall miss the laughs and jokes

This is to wish everyone that new Enid our sincere condolences. Enid was well loved by all the people that she got to know at Rosemary Lodge Residential Home in Lichfield. She will be missed especially when she wore her lovely jazzy Glasses and her wicked sense of humour. Godbless her and everyone that she knew.
From all the staff residents relatives and friends at Rosemary Lodge. xxx
I will always remember the fun and laughter on our family holidays to Anglesea. Auntie Enid and my dad Norman were always the life and soul of the holiday. She was truly one of life’s ” radiators” and she will be sadly missed.
I will never forget her kindness to my mum Sylvia after my Dad died. Thinking of you all at this sad time , Janette x
Hi Janette ,
Thank you so much for your lovely comment about Mum. They were definitely two hilarious characters…. wherever they are they’ll be having a laugh, and your Dad will be eating Auntie Audreys trifle!
I was so surprised to hear you were living in New Zealand………we visited at the beginning of October for 2 weeks with Sarah who has been travelling in Australia.Mum was in a residential home for a month while we were away as she really was quite poorly. Our godson lives in Aukland and they’ve just had a baby so we went to visit them too. Our abiding memory apart from the stunning scenery were the people, its like it was here 50 years ago they couldn’t do enough for you. Lovely to hear from you so far away. Stephanie x
I will forever remember my Aunty Enid (my great Aunt) for her kindness, her thoughtfulness and her laughter. Visiting her, Aunty Audrey and Nannan in Lichfield as a child going in and out of each of their houses on the terrace is how ill best remember her along with us being lucky enough for her to make it to our wedding ? Everyone there fell in love with her and her comedy that day.
Lots of happy memories our days out for lunch at SWINFEN starting with a Kia our special tipple followed by a trip to the shops always buying birthday cards as you have been so good remembering all the family’s birthdays I will try to get better in your memory. I am so sorry to have lost you but glad you are free from that terrible pain but you still managed to have a joke on your good days. God Bless love you lots Valerie xx
Enid you may well remember when we first met more than 60 years ago. I was courting and married your younger sister Valerie. Over the years we have never had a cross word and we always enjoyed a joke together. I will miss the phone ringing and greeting you with the words GOOD GRACIOUS ITS YOU AGAIN. I must compliment you on the way you have coped with you suffering without complaint. We shall miss you, We are having a Mass said for you on SUNDAY. Rest in peace PETER.
Auntie Enid, the life and soul of any family gathering. Always thoughtful, loving and ready to share a joke, rarely seen without a smile and a laugh.
I have memories of Aunty End dancing with Uncle Bill at Christmas in Pinfold Lane and the wooden clothes horses made in the shape of soldiers for the boys and girlies for the girls at Christmas in Aldridge.
We will miss the rude cards on our birthdays…”where did she find these cards?!”
Happy Memories
Lots of Love RIP

The family would like to thank everyone for attending Enid’s service on Wednesday.
We were so moved to see how much she was loved and remembered, and this has brought much comfort .
Thank you for your generous contributions on the day-a total of £230 was collected on behalf of RNLI and St. Giles Hospice Whittington.
With love to you all.
Heather and Stephanie xx
We were all so saddened to hear of Enids’ passing and I’m sorry that I was unable to make her funeral.
She is dearly missed , as are her smiles and laughter despite the obvious discomfort she was experiencing.
Stephanie and Heather , thankyou so much for your kind words. It means a lot to me as to the others to know that what we do does make a difference. Even though we experience the loss of many of our patients, it doesn’t get any easier.
It was a pleasure to get to know the three of you, and it was a pleasure to nurse Enid .
With love and best wishes
Tess xx
