James believed strongly in supporting people through the challenges they faced, understanding that physical limitations or mental health difficulties can be a part of someone’s everyday life – not something to simply get-over, but something that shapes who you are and how you live.
As a proud Brummie always championing his city, a local cause that supports young people in Brum and the surrounding areas, giving them help and the skills they need to succeed in life, makes perfect sense as the charity to receive any donations in his name.

My fellow Bluenose neighbour, you will be greatly missed. You will be remembered for your kindness and smiles..⚽❤️
James, you will be fondly remembered by all of us here at Potter Clarkson who had the pleasure of working with you over the last few years – for your expertise and insights, but also for your friendly and positive approach in supporting us. You have been a true pleasure to work with and will be sadly missed by the Marketing team and fee-earners alike.
I only knew James for a short time – he worked on our PR account at Begbies Traynor with Jo at Suited Comms. I saw a chap who was committed and a true professional, but also a thoroughly nice and decent bloke.
My thoughts go out to all who knew him, but particularly his young family. God Bless.
James made the world a better place. I worked with James on a number of projects at NFU Mutual. His integrity and professionalism shone through and it was a privilege to know him.
I’m so sorry that he has gone.
James, you will be greatly missed and fondly remembered – a true professional, passionate about your work, dedicated to family and friends and a great person to be around! I’ll remember our lockdown Zoom conversations for work with our respective children and pets in the background, and the creativity you brought to many work projects and campaigns. Most of all I’ll remember your kindness and great sense of humour. Wishing you peace and sending your family strength as they find their way through this difficult time.
Bloody hell, Westy, I still can’t believe it. Not seen you since Melvilles wedding, but there’ll always be a bond from the Sheffield days. Top top bloke and friend, but supporter of a terrible football team x
Talented, intelligent and kind – it was an absolute pleasure to work with James on projects at NFU Mutual. A wonderful man and an inspiration to us all.
I had the pleasure of living with Jim for a few years. He had the only house in town with a sauna that we never used. It was great for the storage of boxes. Living with Jim you can imagine, had its ups and downs, but we somehow liked the same eclectic music, dry sense of humour, and love of cooking, which kept us on good terms. Yes, I was the one that painted his walls blue because we thought that it was going to be like Hollyoaks. Sorry, it took several layers of paint to hide that!
I have many stories together which I will cherish.
We lost touch for quite a few years. It made me very happy to know that he found love and started a family. Something that he always wanted to do – other than watch a Blues game.
I will miss his impression of a Komodo dragon that is etched in my memory. His words of wisdom and his contagious laugh.
So long Jim.
It was a complete honour to know Jimmy. I just loved him. Funny man. Gentleman. The best company. Slick and stylish always. It’s brutal to lose him now, but I cherish all the laughter and the times we shared, and I will always love him for his fierce love for my best friend Emily. She is just brilliant, and he knew it straight away, and courted her like they were in a romantic film. I see him in her, in Martha and Roni, and in all the ways he changed my life forever. What a lovely, amazing man. This is always going to sting. Thank you, Jimmy, for all the good times, and for being my friend. I was just in awe of you. Love you.
