Arrangements for the funeral of Stephen Plante

Stephen Plante

Tuesday 26th October, 2pm

Robin Hood Crematorium

Stephen’s family and friends will be attending a ceremony at Robin Hood crematorium on 26th October to say goodbye to him.

Stephen’s family are aware that sadly, due to the current coronavirus pandemic, some people may not feel comfortable attending the service. They are therefore providing for a webcast to enable you to join from your own home if you prefer.

To access the webcast follow the link to the Obitus website and input the username and password details below.

You can login to the Obitus website at any time to view a test connection (and we strongly recommend you do this) but you’ll only be able to view the Live Webcast between approx. 2pm and 3pm on Tuesday 26th October.

If you are unable to come to the service, Stephen will be taking a final journey round Moseley on his way on Tuesday.

His hearse will stop at M&S Foodhall carpark at 1.10pm, drive past 68 and 84 Church Road at 1.25pm and stop at the Village Green at 1.30pm.

Flowers / Donations

If you wish to do something in Stephen’s memory, his family would prefer that you donate to Moseley Alternative Giving Campaign rather than send flowers.

Donations will also be collected on the day of the funeral.

Stephen’s family welcome any tributes, words of remembrance and stories about him so do feel free to leave any messages at the bottom of this webpage. (Please note comments are moderated so do not go live immediately)

Stephen was the bane of my life as a school boy. I once chased him with a slipper out of my house, I won’t go into detail. Later I grew to be very fond of him, He had a great sense of humour and was always up for a chat. I used to look for him at his usual spot outside M&S. Moseley now seems empty without him. Thanks for the memories Stephen. RIP.

I’d see Steve once or twice a week at M&S, when shopping with or for my boss, and he was always up for a natter. He, like me, was a George Orwell fanatic and avid reader. He would talk about anything and was one of the brightest people I know – I will miss his wisdom and kind words.
Me, my boss and his twins always looked forward to seeing him and asking what he’d like for dinner (something chinese-y for two!!). He will leave a huge hole in the community of Moseley that no one will be able to fill. He was everything that was good, honest and caring in a person and the world is a poorer place without him in it. Sweet dreams, Steve! xx
