chatted with Kevin About some of the good times I had with Gordon on the golf course mainly Nailcote Hall 8 balls in lake.
A disaster with an out of control golf trolley that ended up in the water at Welford and Gordon paddling out to retrieve it. Plus many many more happy memories.
One of my earliest memories of Gordon was when he had just got his first motorbike. He was about 16 and I was about 6. As my big cousin he let me sit on the saddle and he pushed me on it. We lived in London but whenever we visited Birmingham we always wanted to visit uncle John and cousin Gordon.
Greta and I moved into Stonor Road over 50 years ago and we immediately became friends with Judy and Gordon Having dinner parties and really enjoyed ourselves Gordon was always smiling and such good fun A real gentleman in every way
Many happy memories working together at Silverline. Plus the fun times we had on the golf course.
Judy and Gordon were our first neighbours when we married in 1966 and we have been close friends ever since. We lived for 7 years in Bavaria, Germany and one summer in about 1982/3, the Page family visited us [by car]. We wanted to show them the sights including Lake Ammersee where we boarded a scenic boat tour. On returning to his car – I think a Ford Cortina – Gordon realised that he had left the key in the ignition and all doors were locked. Talk about panic but fortunately cars in those days were easier to break into than now and with the help of a coat-hanger the day was saved.
Happy memories
I have known the Page family for all of my life as Judy and my Mom (Janet) were at school together, so Deana and I have been friends since babies.
I have many memories of Gordon and his wonderful smile, but one that stands out and stays in my heart is just after my Dad died I went to a party with them and Gordan came and asked me to dance, he said that he knows that if my Dad was there he would’ve asked me, that was such a lovely thing to do and I’ve never forgotten it.
Gordon was very special to me and will always hold a special place in my heart. Ruth x
I remember Gordon from his early days going out with Judy. He was always smart and immaculate. I remember as well doing my parachute jump and his support at Long Marston airfield. A friend since my teenage years, fate was cruel to him in the end, my love and fondest memories to all his family. Xxx
