If you are attending this funeral and would like to find out more about what we do and what you might experience our ‘About Us’ page is a great place to start.
For my 16th birthday fatima made me feel so special. We made a trip to the city centre, and yes buckets of laughter included . Fatima made a surprise purchase of a red necklace which I kept close for many years.
That wicked sense of humour will always be in my thoughts.
A stunning and kind lady that will be truly missed by all.
FATIMAS FAMOUS SAYINGS
1) Let me make you laugh. 2) Come and have a cup of tea. 3) Have some cake, home made including the box.
4) Try this ice cream i made earlier.
And laugh we all did, what fun she gave us. We all knew that if you went for a cup of tea you were probably going to have a massive lunch. Fatima’s ice cream was also a treat and usually contained some form of alcohol. Wonderful times, we will all miss her.
When I came to the UK in 1991, I stayed at Steve’s & Fatima’s. She is the reason I am a nurse as she encouraged me to apply for the course even though everybody said I would not get in until the following year’s intake! I am so thankful she was part of my life- very kindhearted, with a welcoming smile and full of laughter. I loved her no nonsense straight talking and I used to call her ‘speedy gonzales’ … I will miss her so much. She will not be forgotten in our family…
I have known Fatima since Monyhull
Hospital days, where she was a qualified member of staff managing me as a student nurse.bShe was an excellent nurse and doing the best caring for people with learning disabilities.
Socially she will be remembered by me as a person who would always entertain people at her place, lightening up any room and bringing smiles to everyone’s face. She would always make sure we were all looked after and well fed, she enjoyed sending take away food for my members of family.
When Waheeda was very poorly she and Steve ensured that we had something to eat by bringing food to our house, such a kind heart.
She was a remarkable person who always wanted to help people.
She will be badly missed by myself and the family, who held her in such high regards.
Our thoughts go to Steve Dianan his girlfriend and jack. Fatima will always be remembered in our prayers and deep in our hearts.
Our family met Fatima and Steve over 40 years ago.
When we came for a visit, Fatima as the perfect hostess, was always welcoming, doing her very best to make us feel at home.
Her first words as we walked into the house were: ” Make yourselves at home.”
If I asked if there was anything I can do to help, her reply would be ” No,everything is done, just relax and enjoy yourself ”
We are certain that Fatima will be really missed by her family and friends. Her sense of humour and her laughter were infectious.
We too will miss her very much.
Our thoughts are with Steve, Dannen and the rest of the family at this sad moment.
We remember Fatima with lots of happy thoughts.
One memory is from when we were on holiday in Turkey some years ago now.
We were on a coach, and one of the passengers became ill and got into quite a mess
Fatima was the one who got up instantly to help the man ( she didn’t know him ), but she helped clean him up etc. – what a woman !, we’ll miss you.
We’ve known Auntie Fatima all our lives. Auntie Fatima, Uncle Steve and Dahnen have been friends of the family for a many years, although really they are like family to us.
We honestly can say that Auntie Fatima was one of the most kind hearted, generous people that we know. We still remember going round to their place for dinner over the years. If anyone’s been lucky enough to do that, they’ll know that she really was the ‘hostess with the mostest’!
We also had the honour of teaching her to play poker and enjoyed many games with her. We should have know that she’d provide stern competition given her love of the casino!
Our thoughts are with Auntie Fatima’s family. We will miss her dearly. We only have happy memories of her which we’ll never forget.
Fatima has been a special person in our lives.
Always welcoming, generous and kind with a naughty streak to make us laugh.
R.I.P dear friend, we won’t forget you.
On behalf of Brian and myself, Brigitte and John
We have been blessed to have had Fatima in our life. We met Fatima over half a century ago when she started nurse training at Coleshill Hall Hospital Nr Birmingham.
We Mauritian students became all good friends as we were far away from our parents and families.
Fatima became more like a sister, a family member to us over the years.
Fatima would always phone and check if we were ok if she didn’t hear from us for a while (like a week).
For the past twenty years until recently we always went away to celebrate the New Year. She was always the life and soul of the party. She loved dancing and could dance all night.
Fatima had a wicked sense of humour. She was always making jokes and got us laughing all the time.
Fatima enjoys cooking, creating desserts and homemade ice cream “yummy”
She loved inviting friends and was always welcoming with a big meal. She also loved dressing up smartly going out for meals with friends at the restaurant.
Over the years we have spent the most wonderful times in her company may it be at her house, our house, on cruise or holidays.
Fatima will be greatly missed. She will always be in our thoughts. Rest in eternal peace Fatima
Our thoughts are with Steve, Dannen, Felicie and zac at this sad time.
Love always, Joceline and Brian Tommis,
Brigitte and John Donaghie
Fatima you have always been someone who has enjoyed and lived life to the full. Always lighting up any event and gathering with your infectious smile, laughter and naughty streak. You will be truely missed and always loved.
Fatima was ahead of her time and full of sage, often hilarious, advice to live life to the fullest.
She was so cheeky and always had a glint in her eye.
Women of her generation were pioneers when they came to the UK, showing great strength and resilience.
I will remember her fondly.
Love,
Vedita
