    Dear Rita,

I know you never expected to inherit a stepdaughter. When you first met me, you didn’t quite know what to do with me, but then as the years passed, we loved each other and became family. Being a loving step grandmother to Brody and Livi, talking each week on the phone about the latest gossip, showing me how to prepare Shepherd’s Pie, playing cards, going to Delray Beach, swimming at the Florida condo or having Dad mix us a drink for happy hour. We shared so many good memories and laughs.

Most of all, thank you for being a loving and caring life partner to my Dad. You made him a better person and your love for one another was obvious. You two built a wonderful life together. I pray you’ve finally been reunited. I’m sure he’s been lost without you these last 5 years.

I pray you are now at peace. No more pain or suffering. You will be greatly missed and you will always be loved. God bless.

    Love,
    Cheri
