If you are attending this funeral and would like to find out more about what we do and what you might experience our ‘About Us’ page is a great place to start.
My wife Diane and myself visited Maureen on behalf of COSPA (Cadbury Outside Staff Pensioners Association) for over 20 years. We enjoyed her Company and she always made us very welcome. We shared a love of Yorkshire in particular and during one of our many visits we looked up her house in Levisham. She spoke very fondly of all her family and we felt as if we knew them well although we had never met. We last saw Maureen for a lovely visit just before Christmas and we will miss the visits enormously.
Maureen was mum Margaret’s best friend and part of my growing up with stories about them together having adventures together. I remember when I lived with the family when I was 10 spending times in the Lazy Daisy and always remember her constant kindness, sense of fun and always being there
We have many happy memories over the years of spending time with Maureen and her family. So pleased we were able to see her before Christmas,
Lorraine and Erin
Mrs Harvey, you will be sadly missed by many here at Audley, you were a strong a courageous character who knew what she wanted and how she wanted it. Your phone calls to the office starting with “Its Maureen Harvey here” with a query or question will be missed. Your determination and strong will was something to be admired. You never let anything phase you. The lighting at Audley is still something spoken about and in the forum just last week speaking of lighting was said to be in your honor. It was a pleasure having you with us and being able to meet you. From the Care department at Audley xx
Mrs Harvey, you will be so sadly missed from the team on reception. I will miss our chats about having our nails done.
You were an inspiration to all, how you navigated around the Village. It was a absolute pleasure to have known you.
RIP now, you beautiful lady.
From Julia and Reception Team at Audley. xx
I always looked forward to my weekly meetings with Maureen in her apartment at Audley St George’s. When we discovered a mutual love of Dickens and poetry I offered to read to her (she had tried listening to her favourite pieces on her electronic reader but didn’t like its mechanical voice). In addition to our readings of David Copperfield and A E Housman we would also chat about the state of the world, about our life memories, and our families. It seemed that there was nothing that didn’t interest her. And I was constantly amazed at her ability to cope with the range of devices Deborah installed for her as her sight declined. Maureen was a truly remarkable woman, and Wednesdays without her will never be quite the same.
What a delight it was to have regarded Maureen as a friend. We met often at Friends of the museum meetings and also at our regular coffee mornings at the Hilton with all of our coffee morning friends, before lockdown. We had a lovely party for her here at our apartment complex for her 90th birthday. Latterly it has just been phone chats with her, which I will miss.
I met Maureen through our local coffee group about 9 years ago. She was wonderful company – and I enjoyed our conversations, highly intelligent and amusing. I was amazed how she got her self around town – bumping into her in New Street Station on several occasions. She will be missed by all her friends and family.
Maureen was a wonderful lady. We had many an entertaining evening in our apartment or out on the balcony for a summer BBQ. Usually with a nice glass (or two) of wine :-). When she moved to Audley I still had the pleasure of meeting her for lunches both here in the JQ and at Audley. Maureen had such a broad depth of experience and knowledge about life it was fascinating just talking to her. I will miss her.
